A stirring piece of American history captured on a postcard. This iconic World War II poster from the U.S. Office of War Information links the Revolutionary War to the fight against the Axis powers. The image shows American GIs marching past Continental Army soldiers at Valley Forge, beneath General George Washington's Headquarters Flag — now part of the Museum of the American Revolution's collection.
Artist Bernard Perlin created this powerful composition using American soldiers as models, connecting 1940s Americans to generations of sacrifice for liberty. A larger version hung in Union Station during WWII.
